Family Fun Photos

We took the girls to Galaxyland today

good thing she's tall for her age

Katelyn's first carousel ride

Emily's first carousel ride...
I can't believe they let her on.

We weren't sure if Katelyn would like this...
it seemed a little high.
She obviously doesn't seem bothered by heights.

They let Emily on this one too.

This ended up being Katelyn's favourite ride.
She giggled the whole time.

She even convinced mommy that it wasn't too scary.

it's windy

The wind has blown our trampoline across the yard... thankfully this time it hasn't blown a tree over.

It looks like it's starting to hail a little as well.

a new podcast

I listen to a lot of technology related podcasts, but I've recently come across a science fiction short story podcast that I appreciate. In case you're interested in science fiction, check out Escape Pod.

Edit: I'd recommend episode 100, which is how I found the podcast... it seems from the latest episode that not all of the episodes are approved for all audiences.

quick rising fuel costs?

I had booked a moving truck for a work-related project, although I have since canceled it in favour of hiring someone to do it for us. What was strange about the process, though, is the "cost per kilometer" number. On the website it was 49 cents/km when I started the booking process, but I decided to book by phone, where they told me it was 69 cents/km. When I looked at my booking confirmation, however, it was stated as $1.11 per kilometer. All within the span of minutes.

Maybe this is why so many people want to borrow my brother-in-law's trailer to help them move.

8/8/8

Not that I'm into numerology, but today's date is 8/8/8. We'll only have a few more of these kind of dates in our lifetime, so I think it's worth mentioning.

So this is me mentioning it.

we will rock you

I remember this with my first daughter... late nights pacing the basement rocking her to sleep. I'm so glad our toddler sleeps through the night.

order of diaperations

To avoid unpleasantness, I recommend having the next diaper ready to go before removing the current diaper.
